Abstract

Behavior therapy is the predecessor to cognitive behavioral therapy, grounded in learning theory and scientific principles. Behavioral strategies are at the core of many effective, empirically validated treatments for psychiatric disorders. The following chapter describes several key behavioral strategies in detail and illustrates their use via clinical vignettes.
