Abstract
This chapter will focus on how to address a patient who is non-compliant with the practice guidelines for safe opioid analgesic use and when/how to properly discharge them from the practice if necessary. Please keep in mind that practice guidelines cannot anticipate each individual patient’s situation and must be adapted to the individual situation using the clinician’s judgment.
