Abstract
Sacral pain is very common and is categorized as a subset of back pain. A thorough history and physical examination are important in the diagnosis. Treatment should be multimodal with consideration for interventional procedures. In this chapter, interventional techniques used in the treatment of sacral pain are described. Sacroiliac joint injections, radiofrequency ablation of the posterior innervation of the sacroiliac joint, selective sacral nerve root injections, and caudal epidural procedures are described.
