Abstract
This chapter explains the anatomical configuration of the abdominal wall and its multiple layers and weak areas, with an emphasis on the inguinal region, the most common area of hernia development. An explanation of the key elements of hernia repair is provided, as well as detailed information regarding the optimal strategies for the surgical treatment of inguinal hernias.
