Abstract

This chapter discusses the embryologic development of the small bowel and anomalies, including intestinal malrotation, atresia, Meckel’s diverticulum, and anomalies of the umbilicus. Patterns of presentation of intestinal ischemia are discussed, as are short gut syndrome and Crohn’s disease.
