Abstract

This chapter describes the sixth and final unit of the Couple CARE for Parents (CPP) program. This chapter focuses on likely future changes in the couple’s life together, and how the couple can manage those changes constructively. The content describes how the educator can help couples identify likely life changes, anticipate plausible effects of the changes on them as individuals and as a couple, and plan how to manage those changes. There is also a section on how to review with couples early warning signs of relationship deterioration, and how to respond constructively to those warning signs and get their relationship back on track. There is also a description of how to assist couples identify what they will do to sustain their relationship together in the long term.
