Abstract
Not every generation can see a transit of Venus. Counting 2012 only seven have been seen since Horrocks’s and Crabtree’s initial success at the transit of 1639. Those of our generation are fortunate to have had one opportunity in 2004, and a second in 2012. Though countless millions saw Venus track across the Sun at one or other transit, anyone living who did not avail him or herself of the opportunity will now have to wait until 2117 for the next one!
