Abstract
Atherosclerosis continues to be the main cause of death and disability in most developed countries. In addition to select surgical and endovascular therapy, all patients with carotid, renal, and mesenteric atherosclerotic disease should receive best medical therapy, i.e., risk factor modification, antiplatelet therapy, and lifestyle modification.
