Abstract

When making a sales call ensure you create a professional impression by being polite, introduce yourself clearly, use opportunities to highlight the benefits of their company to work with yours, mention names of your clients to give your company credibility, and be positive in your reactions to what the other person says. Follow these steps:

  • Give your name and the name of your company. Check that you are speaking to the right person.

  • Ask if this is a good moment to speak and state how long the call will take.

  • Explain briefly what your company does.

  • Underline the potential benefit for the prospect of working with you and your company.

  • State what you plan to do next.

  • Find out more about the prospect’s company and stress again how your company can meet their needs.

  • Repeat your name and the name of your company.

  • Thank the prospect for his / her time.
