Abstract
The assessment of features related to borderline personality disorder (BPD) among youth presents an important challenge. One self-report approach that has seen considerable usage involves the Personality Assessment Inventory (Morey, 1991; Morey, 2007a, 2007b). This chapter provides an overview of the PAI and related measures that are particularly salient for assessment of children and adolescents, and then examines various research applications of the PAI in this population to provide some evidence of the utility of this approach for assessing BPD and relevant constructs in this age range.
