Abstract

Changes on labor markets as well as the changing patterns of personal and family-related services have wide-ranging effects on volunteering and associating; these effects are however very ambivalent. They may both restrict and widen opportunities for individual and joint voluntary action. This chapter discusses these challenges in an analytical and practical perspective.
