Abstract
The identification and evaluation of sport-related concussion are key components of the concussion management process. Integral to this process is a well thought out and rehearsed emergency action plan and concussion management policy that outlines how each injury will be handled. The on-field and follow-up evaluations should be systematically approached and executed to ensure the thorough assessment of neurocognitive functioning, postural control, and athlete-reported symptoms. Each of these domains should be considered in conjunction with the clinical exam when making the injury diagnosis and eventual return to play decision.
