Abstract
Amputations in children are fortunately relatively rare events. However, when they occur, they are emotionally devastating injuries for the child, their family, and the health-care providers. The technical aspects of the replantation procedure in a child are almost analogous to that of in an adult, with the exception that the physis should be preserved. Due to improved healing potential and nerve regeneration with less scar formation, the outcomes of pediatric replantation are more favorable than in adults.
