Abstract
Knowledge of the neurological examination and associated testing will help the clinician, whether a genetic counselor or physician, to efficiently scan medical records to find clues to a genetic diagnosis. This search can help narrow the differential diagnosis and avoid redundant and expensive testing. Additionally, the patient visit will then be more productive, and allow extra clinical time for other services to the patient and family, such as education, counseling, and plan of care.
