Abstract

In this chapter, I begin with an overview of the prevalence of anxiety disorders and how these prevalence figures differ according to gender and age. In the second part of the chapter, I discuss some of the procedures for assessing or measuring anxiety and how anxiety disorder diagnoses are derived.
