Abstract
Since the introduction of lobotomy for mental illness, thousands of patients have been submitted to the procedure or various modifications of it. The modifications have, of course, been the consequence of a search for a more precise approach which would not only be more efficacious but also safe and free from serious psychological or physical consequences.
