Abstract

This chapter gives an outline of the processes of growth and covers the feeding of infants and children up to adulthood. References are given for a range of literature from academic reviews and papers to the advisory leaflets for the general public. As always the organization of the material posed questions. Thus some topics, like faddiness, are dealt with under pre-school children but, of course, are not confined to that age group. Dental health is covered in Chapter 3 and obesity in Chapter 8.
