Abstract

This chapter is an overview discussing some of the factors that promote good practice in district nursing. It begins with a short history of district nursing to give some insight to those readers who are unfamiliar with it. This is important as it locates district nursing within the particular influences that have helped to shape and give it a particular ideological position.
