Bullous dermatoses associated with renal disease

  • Chapter
Management of Blistering Diseases

Abstract

A blistering disorder resembling porphyria cutanea tarda has been reported in haemodialysis patients as well as in uraemic patients while receiving frusemide. Furthermore glomerulonephritis has occurred in association with a variety of blistering diseases including dermatitis herpetiformis, bullous pemphigoid and linear IgA disease. These various associations are discussed.
