Abstract
The utility of post-mortem chemistry is receiving increasing recognition in forensic laboratories; this parallels a steady expansion of the body of literature addressing the topic. Biochemical studies may identify the cause of death, they may help in assessing the physiological effects of the anatomic findings at autopsy or they may aid in determining the time of death.
