Abstract
Common specimens from the head and neck (other than from the eye, mouth and nose) comprise inflammatory lesions and tumours of the skin, salivary gland tumours, and laryngeal polyps and tumours. Some of the specimens described below are dealt with only in specialized centres, but are included here for completeness and to help with unusual cases. Skin specimens that are not unique to the head and neck are addressed in Chapter 13.
