Abstract
During many years’ experience as a physiotherapist and social worker I have been involved with incontinence in gynaecological and geriatric care, both in hospitals, residential homes and with people in their own homes. As adviser on this subject to the Disabled Living Foundation and the Royal Free Hospital, London, I have become increasingly aware of the need for a greater understanding of incontinence, and for advice in dealing with it.
