Abstract

Investigation of magneto-optical phenomena is now well established as a valuable means of obtaining information on the energy band structure of semiconductors. In particular, the changes in the polarization of the radiation which occur in longitudinal or transverse magnetic fields, for both the transmitted and reflected beams, offer a wide range of experimental possibilities. These have been extensively studied with infra-red radiation and, to a lesser degree, in the microwave region.
