Zusammenfassung
Die phylogenetisch bis zu den Prosimiern zurückgehende Fissura calcarina ist auch die ontogenetisch am frühesten angelegte Fissur des menschlichen Großhirns und zugleich, einer allgemeinen Eegel entsprechend, eine der tiefsten. Darüber hinaus umkleidet die in die Tiefe der Fissura calcarina supprimierte (Spatz 1959) Area striata das komplizierteste versenkte Windungsgebilde, das einer genaueren architektonischen Erforschung stets besondere Schwierigkeiten entgegengesetzt hat, ebenso wie der genaueren elektrophysiolo-gischen Erforschung der Area striata bei den höheren Primaten dadurch besondere Schwierigkeiten begegneten. So wissen wir physiologisch sehr viel genauer über die Sehrinde der Katze Bescheid als über die der Primaten.
