Abstract
Depending on the intended application of parts made from iron-graphite compositions, their structure must meet different requirements. Thus, for instance, antifriction materials must contain graphite but no structurally-free cementite; in constructional materials, the presence of graphite is highly undesirable, while cementite is permissible or, sometimes, even indispensable.
