Abstract
During experiments with development of iron powder compositions with controlled dimensional changes it was found that our knowledge of the variables which influence the properties of sintered structural materials is still quite insufficient. Some such variables are, for example, the causes of differences in sintering activity and dimensional behavior between the commercial types of iron powder and the role of phase transformations and grain growth during the sintering cycle.
