Abstract
The topic of reconciliation needs to be addressed from several vantage points. One is from the adult son’s side, from a man thirty to forty-five years of age or so, who has a dawning recognition that there has been and continues to be something significant missing in his relationship with his father. Also, we need to consider the vantage point of the older father, who may be moving toward or has already reached retirement age, and observes his own son growing older, taking on the role of a father. He himself may view his role as somewhat disengaged or distant from his son, and is wishing at this point to form a close connection with him.
