Abstract
In recent years, the angular correlation of photons from the annihilation of positrons in metal single crystals has been used to obtain information about the shape of the Fermi surface. This paper presents an account of the results of such measurements on single crystals of sodium and lithium. The measurements yield information closely related to the areas of slices through the Fermi surface perpendicular to the (100), (110), and (111) directions.
