Abstract
Another major area where preoperational children are not ready to reason logically is their inability to conserve. Piaget divides the intellectual development of young children and adolescents into four general periods:
-
1.
The sensorimotor period, 0–2 years old
-
2.
The preoperational period, 2–7 years old
-
3.
The period of concrete operations, 7–11 years old
-
4.
The period of formal operations, 11–15 years old
