Abstract

Of all the secrets that the stars hold, perhaps the most interesting is that some of them, called variable stars, change in brightness. There is even an organization called the American Association of Variable Star Observers (AAVSO), in existence for more than 80 years, that has as its sole purpose these collection of observations of these variable stars by amateur astronomers.
