Abstract
In this, the last Session, we deal with the causes and effects of ageing. In our discussions we have already met many of the causes, a few of the effects and some of the problems, and a little of the strictly demographic background has also been mentioned. It seems that in many (but not all) of our communities more and more people are surviving to substantial old age. As the proportions change, so do our standards and what we expect in terms of comfort, health and happiness alter from year to year. It is with the immensely wide and altogether fascinating implications of these changes that we are now concerned.
