Abstract

One of the difficulties in interpreting this type of work is that one does not know whether the effects are on specific proteins involved in the process of consolidation, or whether the memory deficit is caused by the inhibition of processes that are generally required for the health of the cell. The function of the neurons is not so impaired as to prevent learning, but they are sick enough so that consolidation does not take place.
