Abstract
Most women are practical. My mother, Erzsébet “Elza” Wigner, was no exception. She lived in the home, seeing that our food was well cooked, the house well cleaned, and the clothes well mended. She had mastered these tasks herself, but mostly she left them to the two unmarried servant girls who lived with us.
