Abstract
Throughout history, man’s progress has been directly dependent upon the power available to him. This fact holds true as he enters the new environment of space. Capability for establishing useful scientific, commercial, and military satellites and for exploring the solar system will depend upon power for communication, control, guidance and propulsion of the satellite and space vehicles. To satisfy the power requirements of large space vehicles, it is certain that dynamic systems utilizing the Rankine cycle turbo-machinery will be employed.
