Abstract

M ark had dated several women before but he saw something in Kathy that he had never seen before. It was as if the good parts of his mother were taken out and placed in a young, vibrant woman who loved to dance and smile. For reasons beyond him, Kathy also seemed to love Mark. With previous girlfriends, sex had felt dirty. He frequently had smoked marijuana to “get into the mood.” The sex seemed “spacey” and fun, but bad at the same time. He didn’t use marijuana with Kathy, and sex with her felt better. For Mark, it seemed to be almost holy.
