Merlin of the Movies

Abstract

The last aspect of consensual S & M taken up in this book is how S & M pornography is produced. To cover this topic, I draw on conversations with Merlin, who produces, directs, writes, and performs in S & M films, and with Ron, who writes occasional scripts for such films but who participates mainly as a performer. I have also talked with but do not include here Merlin’s wife, Merlin’s “slave,” a then girlfriend of Merlin’s (all three women knowingly sharing Merlin); two women used as bottoms in such films, one of whom is an S & M enthusiast (Ron’s ex-wife), the other a stripper making a few dollars performing what does not come naturally to her; and a former submissive, now a dominatrix who performs in S & M films.
