Abstract

At around 2:00 p.m. on April 13, 1991, nineteen-year-old Michael Lee Henry, a man with a long history of mental problems, entered the Fred Meyer shopping mall in Portland, Oregon, carrying a loaded .357 Magnum revolver in his waistband. He would tell a number of people that day that he had come there to make the police kill him.
