Abstract

Yoko Ono first attracted John Lennon’s attention at a show of her art. One of her pieces consisted of a ladder standing under a canvas attached to the ceiling of the gallery. A magnifying glass hung from the canvas, allowing the viewer to read a tiny word printed on the canvas. Upon climbing the ladder and peering through the magnifying glass, John Lennon saw the word “yes.”
