Abstract

Now that we have some idea of how and why the big bang model was formulated, let’s look at it in a little more detail. Many misconceptions persist, both about the big bang—when and how it took place—and about the expansion of the universe. I would like to clear up some of them. Trying to imagine what the big bang was like is, of course, difficult, if not impossible. Nevertheless, there is a right way of looking at it.
