Abstract
The philosophical basis of occupational health (OH) lies in its commitment to a two-pronged strategy: to the protection of the worker from illness or injury arising as a result of work activity and to the promotion of health and well-being by the provision of strategies that encompass occupational, lifestyle, environmental, political, social and legal factors and emphasize self-empowered decision-making.
