Abstract

An increasing number of health care organizations today are finding that they must raise more and more funds through development efforts as their federal funding base continues to erode. Like social service organizations, their appeals are often written “to the heart” and targeted not only to those individuals who are making use of their services, but also to those who feel that it is important that these services be provided.
