Abstract

The remarkable physical properties of the ternary compounds are a continuing subject of intense investigation—as is apparent from the various contributions to these volumes. A prodigious amount of experimental data has now been amassed, particularly regarding their superconducting and/or magnetic properties—and their coexistence—which have raised fundamental questions regarding their origin and have challenged long held traditional, theoretical understandings of these phenomena.
