Abstract
It should be evident from previous chapters that the use of lasers may present potential hazards if not properly used. In addition, there are several legislative and voluntary standards that have been promulgated or issued that require specific controls over the usage of lasers. As a result, it is necessary to establish a laser safety program that assures the safe use of lasers and compliance with all applicable standards.
