Abstract

The analysis of the anatomy and physiology of the brain explains a lot about the myriad of effects of alcohol on behavior. The various locations of the brain serve as areas of specific functions for behaviors. These behaviors, in turn, are directly attributable to certain anatomical designations in the brain. A systematic understanding of the physiology of the brain further explains the action of alcohol and other drugs on the brain to produce certain patterns of behavior.1, 2
