Abstract

The presence of raised intracranial pressure (ICP) can be recognised clinically by progressive headache associated with progressive mental change and the development and progression of localising neurological signs. However, these clinical signs can be unreliable and methods are required to detect increasing pressure and distortion of brain tissue preferably by techniques that permit continuous recordings.
