Abstract

Homosexual relations are an ancient practice, mostly condemned or prohibited, but with variable degrees of acceptance and condemnation depending on the culture and customs of the time. The Greeks and their immediate predecessors may have set an unchallenged world record for uninhibited sexual activity. We see a reflection of the Greeks’ attitude in their panoply of gods. The Greek gods indulged in all the fun and folly typical of people on earth, and because they were omnipotent, added heroic touches beyond the realm of human experience.
