Abstract
This book is concerned with pathological lesions of the bronchi and the tissues which immediately surround them. Bronchi are defined as those tubes which lie proximal to the last plate of cartilage along an airway (Chapter 3). Pathological lesions associated with bronchioles, alveoli and other elements of the peripheral lung are not considered in this text. As a general rule the book will discuss those lesions which are within the reach of the fiberoptic bronchoscope.
