Abstract

It is interesting to reflect on the present growth of radionuclide brain scanning. Not so many years ago, and in particular in the mid-1970s, after the peak effect of X-ray computed tomography (CT) brain scanning, radionuclide brain studies significantly declined in frequency and clinical importance. Now, after a decade, radionuclide studies of the brain have gained renewed interest.
