Abstract

Nancy Roper trained as a nurse at the General Infirmary, Leeds. She spent 15 years as Principal Tutor at the Cumberland Infirmary School of Nursing. In 1964 she became self-employed as a writer. In 1975 she was awarded an MPhil based on her research from her fellowship of the Commonwealth Nurses’ War Memorial fund. Between 1975 and 1978 she was Nursing Officer (Research) in the Scottish Home and Health Department. She has written widely on nursing.
