Abstract

To achieve a pregnancy it is necessary for the sperm to meet and fertilize an ovum travelling through the lumen of the woman’s fallopian tube, after which the fertilized ovum continues its journey to the uterine cavity where it is able to settle down and embed itself in the lining layer known as endometrium where it can be nourished and start to grow.
